Cyberspokes Annual
"Food Bank Run, Chopper Show &
Benefit Party"
The last Saturday of every April

Good people, cool music, hot bikes, and a
GREAT TIME.
This page is contains THREE SECTIONS:
-
Biker Events
-
Biker Cruise Nights
-
Biker Event Calendars.
The Biker Events and Biker
Cruise Nights sections contain detailed information
on specific biker events and weekly cruises for the Buffalo & Western NY area.
The Biker Event Calendars section was created because
selected organizations (The Hog Farm, Hard
Tales Mag, ABATE, Gowanda Harley, BikerSource, etc.) already do such a GREAT job putting together Event Calendars. So, the folks here at
Cyberspokes decided... Why reinvent the wheel? Instead, let's pool all of
these resources together into ONE CENTRAL RESOURCE! Hence this section was
born. Rather than listing the event calendars alphabetically, we decided to list them in
order of completeness for the Western New York area. Our opinion of course.
For more National events
like Daytona, Sturgis, Laconia, Myrtle Beach, and more take a look at our Cyberspokes Club Events
page. If you can find it there, then hit our SEARCH or CONTENTS
pages.

 | Saturday, May 6th, 2006 - "ABATE
Buffalo/Erie Safety & Awareness Run"
Starts at Woodlawn Beach (Rte. 5 at 179 circle). Across from the Ford
Plant. Assemble at 10:30,
speaker at noon, run to follow and ends at The Furnace 3700 Southwestern
Blvd. Orchard Park, NY. Hundreds of motorcycle riders will gather to
ride in unity to get the word out that motorcycles are back on the road.
Each year as spring arrives so does the return of thousands of motorcycle
riders back to the roads of Western New York. Unfortunately, during the
winter month's people in cars forget that these riders will be returning to
share the road once again. So in hopes of getting the word out ABATE of
Buffalo/Erie will hold their 18th annual awareness run. Over the years the
population of motorcycle riders has grown tremendously. With this growing
number of riders has come the rise in motorcycle accidents and unfortunately
fatalities. Did you know that 2/3 of all motorcycle/car accidents are the
fault of the automobile driver? Each year across the state of New York May
is officially declared Motorcycle Awareness Month. This is in hopes to get
the word out to watch for motorcyclists and hopefully decrease the
possibility of yet another season full of injuries and fatalities to the
motorcycle riders. As a rider there is very little protection when someone
in an automobile makes a mistake of any kind. This campaign is to raise
awareness to those in cars to please pay attention to the possibility of the
motorcycles, being a much smaller and unprotected vehicle, quite possibly
being in their blind spot or behind that larger SUV. We will be receiving
proclamations from many of our local dignitaries from each of the towns,
villages, city and state proclaiming May as motorcycle awareness month, in
hopes of saving lives. This is a rain or shine event. ABATE is a not for
profit organization standing for American Bikers Aimed Toward Education. Our
monies raised during the year are primarily spent on education and safety
and getting the word out to the public on how to share the road with a
motorcycle. Your support would be greatly appreciated and quite possibly
save a life!

 | August 2006 - "Buffalo
Bike Blast?"
With thousands of registered motorcyclists in Western New York, isn't it great
to see that the City of Buffalo and Buffalo Place have finally realized how to successfully
throw an Annual Biker Event just as fun as events like Daytona, Sturgis,
Myrtle Beach, or Laconia? Well, I guess we all knew that was too good to be
true. The "official" Buffalo Bike Blast has followed in the
footsteps of: traffic on Main Street and our beautiful waterfront
development. Although Buffalo
Place has secured sponsorship from M&T Bank, Labatt Blue, Try-it
Distributing, Buffalo News Gusto, Coca Cola, Southwest Airlines, Wordynski's
Meats, BW's Barbeque, Just Pizza, Cavit Collection, and The Blackthorn
Restaurant for the Buffalo Rocks The Harbor event... "lack
of sponsorship?" is the reason they have given for not doing a 2006
Buffalo Bike Blast. Hmmmm....
But don't worry! Rumor has it that Hard Tales Magazine is working on giving
us an alternative event (Hard Tales
eXpo) September 15th-17th that is just as good, if not better! If you are
interested in getting involved (vendors, sponsors, bands, ticket sales, bike
show, etc.), Call Hard
Tales at 716-725-2745 or email Hardtalesmag@aol.com.

Burdon & The Animals"
"Thursday at The Square" (TATS). TATS & BIKES!
FREE concert! What better way to cool down after work than a nice ride to
"Thursday at The Square"! Known as one of the grittiest bands of

hallmarks of such rock and rollers as Bruce Springsteen and David Johansen.
With the release of House of the Rising Sun in 1964, The Animals became the
first British group after The Beatles to chart a number one single in
America. In 1994, the original members of The Animals were inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Opening up the evening of performance will be
The Ifs and Tom Stahl & The Dangerfields. Don't miss it! You
